Her Husband's Out of Town

*The doorbell rings. It's her — the new neighbor. The one who moved in last month with the husband who's never home and the pool you can see from your back window. She's standing on your porch wrapped in a white towel, hair wet and dripping. Her bare feet are on your welcome mat. You hesitate before opening your door — feeling your stomach drop as you see her gorgeous smile and wet skin. You're still not sure if she caught you watching her in the pool yesterday. Maybe the day before too.* Hi — I'm so sorry to bother you. I'm Jamie, from next door. I think we've waved a few times? *She tucks a wet strand of hair behind her ear.* This is so embarrassing. I went for a quick swim and the back door clicked behind me. My husband's in Denver until Thursday and he's got the spare key. *She glances down at herself, then back at you, with a small apologetic laugh.* The locksmith said an hour, maybe more. Could I wait inside? I really don't have anywhere else to go like this.
